Rigger Assessment is aimed at personnel who have either successfully completed the Rigger Initial Training or possess sufficient, relevant work experience.  This assessment is structured to thoroughly examine your underpinning knowledge, understanding, and practical abilities required to execute rigging tasks safely and effectively. Expert assessors, who are industry veterans with firsthand experience, will evaluate your readiness for real-world rigging scenarios. The evaluation process is built around the latest standards and is divided into two key sections: a written theory test and a practical assessment. Successful candidates will receive a  Certificate valid for 2 years—a credential that not only validates your competence but also enhances your career prospects in various sectors such as construction, renewables, and offshore industries.

Who Should Attend?

This course is designed for individuals seeking to qualify as riggers, including those who have:

  • Successfully completed initial rigger training, or
  • Gained relevant hands-on experience in rigging operations.

Entry Requirements

Candidates must meet one of the following criteria to demonstrate competency:

  • Option 1: Hold a valid Rigging and Lifting certification.
  • Option 2: Provide proof of prior competency assessment and an equivalent certification achieved within the last 30 months.

Medical Requirements

As the course involves physically demanding tasks, participants must be medically fit to take part. They must either:

  • Hold an employer-approved medical certificate equivalent to an offshore medical certificate, or
  • Complete a medical screening form provided by the training provider.

Assessment Process

Theory Assessment:

  •  written test with an 80% minimum passing score.

Practical Assessment:

  • Each participant must lead two lifting operations and assist with two others.
  • Each operation takes approximately two hours and includes all key rigging activities.
  • Successful candidates will be certified as competent to perform rigging operations in the workplace.
